Meera Devi is an agri-entrepreneur from Nighasan village in Uttar Pradesh. Her family faced financial challenges due to limited agricultural land and her husband’s absence from home in search of work. However, with the help of Self-Help Group and her own grit and determination, Meera not only managed to provide for her family but also pursued her dream of becoming an agri-entrepreneur. She completed her Agri-Entrepreneur (AE) training and started her business by selling cattle feed, partnering with Dehat and Biowell for organic fertilizers and pesticides. She also diversified her income through advanced farming techniques such as oyster mushroom cultivation and promoting button mushroom cultivation.

Meera has established a button mushroom demonstration unit at her home, training and empowering other women to learn mushroom cultivation techniques. By diversifying her income streams, she has increased her household income and contributed to the local economy by promoting sustainable agriculture practices. She is now earning Rs. 18,000 per month.

Meera plans to expand her business by establishing a mushroom processing unit and creating a brand for her products. She also aims to collaborate with other agri-entrepreneurs to create a network that supports and promotes sustainable agriculture practices.
