Lakhpati Didi Journey
Nandini Kumari, widely known as the “Scooter Didi” of Bihar. Nandini began serving her community as an HNS MRP (Health Nutrition Service Multi-Purpose Resource Person) in the Karhara cluster.
Her involvement in the community earned her the nickname “Scooter Didi” due to her frequent use of a scooter for outreach. Nandini’s father-in-law opened a tea stall named Baba Tea Stall under her guidance. The modest stall, equipped with minimal infrastructure, became popular after the Chief Minister’s visit, leading to increased business. She utilized a loan of one Lakh from her Self Help Group to invest in expanding the tea and snack outlet, ensuring quality service and attracting more customers. Today, Nandini Kumari’s family enjoys a combined monthly income of Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 60,000.
Her success story exemplifies how determination and community support can lead to significant achievements.
