Smt. Pavitra Rana, tribal woman from Gram Panchayat Baghori of District Udham Singh Nagar faced many challenges in her early life. Everyone in the family was unemployed, poor and less educated. she started helping her husband, her life took a new turn, which started a transformative journey. After some time, She joined Mahak Self Help Group and took a revolving fund of Rs. 10,000 from the group and began her entrepreneurial journey. Her livelihood activities include vegetable cultivation in a Poly House and mushroom cultivation and she also owns an oil extraction unit and a flour mill. She is also working as a community resource person and gives training to hundreds of Self Help Group women in her village.
Her agri-business has made her a lakhpati, earning her a profit of Rs. 15,000 – 20,000 every month. Her farm is visited by many individuals and organizations as a demonstration model and she is a shining example of women entrepreneurship in agriculture.
