Anita Kag, a resident of Kondha village in Dhar district, began her journey as a homemaker engaged in domestic tailoring. Despite being well-educated, her lack of awareness about opportunities confined her to a simple rural life.  She joined the Aajeevika Mission and underwent bookkeeper training, which marked the beginning of her transformative journey. With a loan of Rs. 55,000, she purchased a high-quality sewing machine to enhance her tailoring business. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to secure Rs. 1,50,000 through the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme, enabling her to start a carry bag manufacturing enterprise. This initiative not only improved her income but also created employment for women in nearby villages. She further diversified her activities by starting rakhi-making as a seasonal business and scaling it up with the support of Self-Help Group members. Anita also trained in cake-making, producing high-quality cakes and providing training to other women. As a Krishi Sakhi, she embraced organic farming, producing vermicompost and organic pesticides, while inspiring others to adopt sustainable farming practices. Additionally, her training in Namo Drone technology enabled her to modernize agricultural operations through efficient pesticide spraying. Through her multifaceted efforts, Anita now earns a steady monthly income of around Rs. 30,000 from all her activities. Her journey reflects her evolution from a homemaker to a multifaceted entrepreneur and community leader.
