Dhaneshwari Nagesh has studied up to 12th standard, staying and working in the village Mainpurkala. She joined Jai Maa Durga Self Help Group in 2017. With the support of Self Help Group loan from the Community Resource Person (CRP) of Rs. 30,000, she started the first General Store in the village. Through the earnings of her business, she repaid the loan amount back to Self Help Group in a very short span. She also managed to save a good amount of money for her future. The Self Help Group platform also helped her to regain confidence. She also invests her earnings in farming to cultivate turmeric and other agriculture activities.
In the beginning, she had a difficult time managing her business due to low footfall of customers. Gradually, people came to know about the shop and the footfall of customers increased. The business started gathering its momentum. On an average, Dhaneshwari is earning Rs. 18,000/- to Rs. 20,000/- monthly through her business. She has actively participated in capacity development & financial literacy programs organized by Bihan and now working as Financial Literacy Community Resource Person (FL-CRP) to educate people around the community. With the earnings from her business, she is earning a handsome amount for her family.
