Lakhpati Didi Journey
Gulabben Kantibhai Vaghela, a native of Moti Kunkavav village in the Kunkavav block of Amreli, Gujarat, embarked on a transformative journey when she joined the Dharti Sva Sahay Juth self-help group on June 26, 2016. With the group’s support, she received not only crucial financial backing but also gained valuable technical knowledge that paved the way for her entrepreneurial venture.
Gulabben’s life took a significant turn when she associated with the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), securing a loan of Rs 100,000 to start her own business in broom and handicraft manufacturing. Today, her brooms are used by the local cleaning staff, keeping her village pristine and demonstrating her commitment to her community. This venture has not only increased her confidence but also established her as a skilled businesswoman.
Her success is a testament to the empowerment provided by self-help groups and the National Rural Livelihood Mission. Now, Gulabben enjoys a monthly income of ₹10,000, a reflection of her determination and entrepreneurial spirit.
