Munmi Sonowal’s journey began, when she joined a Self Help Group, catalyzing a significant change in her life. As a mother looking to enrich her family’s livelihood, she embraced the opportunities provided by National Rural Livelihood Mission. Her innate love for nature and desire to break free from a monotonous lifestyle led her to venture into entrepreneurship.
With the support of National Rural Livelihood Mission, she secured a loan of Rs. 50,000 to establish her own nursery garden. This new venture not only nurtured her passion for horticulture but also allowed her to turn her hobby into a profitable business. The nursery thrives during its peak months from october to february, during which she earns Rs. 60,000 monthly, with a net profit of approximately Rs. 20,000.
Continuing her journey, she took another loan of Rs. 50,000 in 2023 to invest in the stock of plants for the year, further expanding her business operations. Today, her nursery garden stands as a testament to her resilience and determination, turning her entrepreneurial dreams into reality. Her story is a shining example of how dedication, coupled with the right support and resources, can transform a simple interest into a sustainable source of income and personal fulfillment.
