Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR)

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) has rolled out the restructured Centrally Sponsored Scheme, Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) with special focus on intensive training and capacity building of all stakeholders.

• This scheme aims to strengthen capacities of Panchayati Raj Institutions for inclusive local governance and to become more responsive towards local development needs.
• The scheme has a programmatic focus on strengthening Self Help Group-Panchayati Raj Institutions convergence. 
• The focus under Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) will be on ensuring basic orientation training to Elected Representatives of Panchayat and also members of Self Help Groups networks for sustainable local development.
