A remarkable transformation has taken place in the life of Akila Khan, a dedicated member of the Sonam Ajeevika Self-Help Group in Hiran Kheda village. With unwavering determination, Akila has turned her fortunes around, evolving from humble beginnings to a thriving entrepreneur.
She accessed low-interest loans to address her immediate needs. Seizing opportunities, she initiated a Kirana store with an initial loan of Rs. 20,000, generating sufficient income to repay the loan and create a safety net for her family.
As her business flourished, Akila expanded her horizons by adding Manihari items to her store, further augmenting her earnings. With an additional loan of Rs. 30,000 from the group, they ventured into auto-rickshaw ownership, amplifying their prosperity.
Akila’s perseverance and strategic financial management enabled her to repay all loans and eventually invest in a four-wheeler, catapulting her monthly income to a remarkable Rs. 15,000-18,000. This phenomenal success has elevated her family’s standard of living and inspired a wave of transformation among fellow group members and the wider community.
