Moirangthem Binarani Devi has encountered numerous financial challenges due to her sole source of income being weaving. However, since becoming a member of a self-help group her circumstances have taken a positive turn. She was appointed as a Bank Sakhi in the block, marking a crucial moment in her journey catalysed by her involvement with the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). This opportunity not only allowed her to showcase her proficiency as a Bank Sakhi but also enabled her to earn Rs. 8000 per month. With a bank loan amounting to Rs. 50,000, she acquired a loom to establish a weaving unit. She now garners a monthly income of Rs. 15,000. Her new financial independence has garnered her immense respect within the community.
