She is an active member of Sivasakthi Self-Help Group and has strong desire to support her family and improve her livelihood condition; she stepped into entrepreneurship through goat rearing.
Shanmugavalli actively participated in Self Help Group meetings, savings activities, and capacity-building trainings. Over time, she gained confidence and developed the skills needed to start her own income-generating activity. Recognizing the demand and profitability of goat rearing in her area, she decided to establish her own unit.
To strengthen her enterprise, she received a bank loan of ₹1 Lakh, which enabled her to purchase goats, arrange proper shelter, and manage feed and healthcare facilities.
With proper planning and dedication, she successfully expanded her goat rearing activity and improved productivity.
Today, Shanmugavalli earns a stable monthly income of approximately ₹48,000. Her enterprise has significantly improved her family’s financial condition and enhanced her social status in the community.
