Lakhpati Didi Journey
Husna Begum Barbhuiya, now affectionately known as Lakhpati Didi, embarked on her transformative journey with a strong desire to improve her family’s financial situation through vegetable cultivation. Initially, she faced numerous challenges due to limited resources and financial constraints. However, her determination and the comprehensive support from Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM) became the catalysts for her success. ASRLM provided essential training, capacity building, and critical financial inputs, including the Revolving Fund (RF), Community Investment Fund and Bank Linkages. This holistic support enabled Husna to significantly enhance her production capacity and financial status. Today, Husna stands as a beacon of inspiration in her community, demonstrating the power of perseverance and support-driven success.
There has been a substantial increase in both her gross and net income, with her annual earnings rising from Rs. 1,80,000 to Rs. 2,50,000. Husna’s enhanced production capacity, coupled with robust marketing linkages, has enabled her to maximize her profits. Her success has not only improved her financial status but also elevated her social standing within her community
