Laxmiben Mithunbhai Vaghela from Vithalpur village in Amreli district embarked on a remarkable journey as a single mother when she joined the Divy Jyot Aajivika Mandal Self-Help Group. Through this group, she received both crucial financial assistance and valuable technical knowledge.
Her entrepreneurial journey began in earnest when she secured a loan of ₹80,000 from the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), allowing her to establish her own business in making crochet work and swing sets (Jhulas). This venture not only elevated her confidence but also sharpened her skills as a businesswoman. Her products have been successfully showcased and sold well at both state and out-of-state fairs, as well as at local markets, making her the primary earner in her family. Laxmiben’s success is a powerful testament to the empowerment facilitated by self-help groups and the National Rural Livelihood Mission, with her now enjoying a monthly income of ₹9,000, reflecting her determination and entrepreneurial spirit.
