Malemnganbi had a burning desire to improve the economic condition of her family and encouraged her to join the Self Help Group. After joining the group, she took a loan of amount Rs. 20,000 and with this amount she started weaving activity and later took loan again for amount Rs 30,000 for expanding business. Besides weaving, vegetable farming is also part of their IGA. She also worked as a Udyog Sakhi which this service counts as a supplementary source of income to the family. She attributes her success to Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM) from where she obtained training and took a turn in expanding her knowledge, understanding and skills development. Her monthly income is around Rs. 15,000 per month from all activities.
