Lakhpati Didi Journey :
Manju Bamnia, a determined resident of Sutreti village in Jhabua district, Madhya Pradesh, has become an inspiring example of resilience and self-reliance. Despite being a graduate, Manju faced many challenges before joining the Gayatri Self-Help.
Manju’s life took a turn when she joined the Self Help Group under the Aajeevika Mission. In one of the group meetings, the concept of a bank kiosk ID was introduced. Intrigued by the opportunity, Manju decided to pursue it. She applied for and was granted a Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank Kiosk ID.
She began earning Rs. 15,000-20,000 per month through her kiosk operations. Her growing rapport with the bank also enabled her to secure additional loans, including Rs. 1 lakh to expand her kiosk centre. Her journey didn’t stop there, she helped others in her village secure loans of Rs. 8 lakh, enabling them to start their own businesses.
Manju’s earnings not only improved her family’s financial stability but also allowed her to undergo crucial surgery for her leg and buy a scooter for herself. In recognition of her hard work, she was awarded the Best Business Correspondent (BC) Award in 2022 for conducting the highest number of transactions.
