Lakhpati Didi Journey:
Sunita joined the Baba Ramdev Self-Help Group and this decision changed her life.
Initially, she took a loan of Rs. 50,000 from the group to buy a buffalo, which allowed her to sell milk in the local area. The earnings from the milk business helped improve her family’s financial situation slightly. Encouraged by this, she expanded her dairy business. With guidance from the Group and further support through the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme, she took another loan of Rs. 2 lakh to purchase three more buffaloes of higher quality breeds.
Sunita’s dairy business grew steadily. She sold milk locally and began supplying milk to nearby dairy companies. Her income increased significantly, allowing her to repay her loans and invest in building a cattle shed with the help of government schemes. Along with her dairy business, she also started selling homemade dairy products like ghee, butter and paneer, adding another income stream.
Her journey from financial instability to become a successful dairy entrepreneur has been transformative. Today her income is Rs. 40,000 – 45,000 per month from dairy sales. She is a respected businesswoman in her village and her family’s standard of living has improved considerably.
