After joining a Self-Help Group, she became a “poshan sakhi,” advocating for women’s health and nutrition awareness. Through her involvement, she not only found support but also empowered herself and others in her community.
Through her participation in a Self-Help Group meeting, she learned about the e-mobility initiative by Development Alternatives. Despite her community’s limited exposure to such opportunities, her forward-thinking mindset led her to envision establishing multiple small businesses, such as stitching, a general store, and a garment shop.
She ultimately decided to join the e-mobility initiative which was a pivotal step towards financial independence. After completing her training and obtaining certification, she now drives an e-rickshaw and earns 10,000 a month. Her new found occupation not only contributes to the family’s income but also positively impacts their children’s health and education. She continuously improves their skills and seeks opportunities for growth.
