Lakhpati Didi Journey

Smt. Anandi Lalubhai Parmar’s journey from a hesitant homemaker to a community leader is a testament to resilience and empowerment. She took a bold step by joining the Pragati Sakhi Mandal. Initially, even stepping outside her home felt daunting, but with time, she gained confidence and eventually became the president of her group, marking the beginning of her transformation. Anandi’s breakthrough came when she trained as a meter reader and secured a job with MGVCL, providing electricity meter readings and bills across the Waghodia block. This steady income was her first step toward financial independence. Alongside her group, she also ventured into jute product manufacturing, crafting jute bags, flowerpots, and files after receiving training from RSETI. Now she earns Rs. 15,000– Rs. 16,000 monthly, balancing multiple income streams. Her leadership extended beyond finances—she became treasurer of the Zaverpura Gramya Sakhi Sangh, successfully eliminating exploitative private microfinance agencies from her village. Passionate about social change, she championed girls’ education and women’s health, ensuring no anemic women remained in her village. Now financially independent and a proud vehicle owner, she inspires women in her village to break barriers and achieve their dreams.
