Lakhpati Didi Journey :
Anita Thakur, a resident of Amjhera village, joined the Amka-Jhamka Self Help Group. Before joining the group, her family struggled a lot financially. Her husband was involved in pottery and clay art, but they couldn’t afford to purchase raw materials in bulk, which limited their earnings. Despite their skills, they couldn’t expand their business due to a lack of capital.
After joining the Group, Anita took out small loans to meet her family’s daily needs and later used funds to invest in their pottery business. Through the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme, she received a loan to purchase more raw materials and equipment. This allowed them to produce pottery and clay products on a larger scale. They started making a variety of clay items such as masks, sculptures, and decorative pieces, which increased their income significantly.
Anita’s leadership skills were recognized, and she was selected to lead the Group. She now supports other women in her village to start their own businesses. Her pottery business has brought a steady income of Rs. 15,000 per month helping her family become financially secure.
