Lakhpati Didi Journey
Asha Devi, once burdened with poverty and personal loss, her journey from despair to becoming a successful “Lakhpati Didi” is truly inspiring.
She became a part of the “Maa Parvati” Self Help Group under the Jeevika program. Despite the personal tragedy and economic constraints, Asha borrowed Rs. 20,000 from the group to open a small shop, which helped sustain her family. However, the real turning point came when she secured a loan of Rs. 75,000 from Jeevika to start a poultry farm, which she named Divansh Raj Poultry Farm. With the poultry business, Asha Devi saw a significant improvement in her financial status. Her monthly income rose to Rs. 25,000, allowing her to provide better education for her children and support their marriages. Asha Devi credits Jeevika for transforming her life, acknowledging that without their support, she might have faced a bleak future.
Her story stands as a testament to how empowerment through financial support and entrepreneurial opportunities can alter lives profoundly.
