Ranapati joined the Chaokhat Khongthang Self Help Group under the Pandam Village Level Federation.
Ranapati took a loan of Rs. 20,000 from the Group to purchase raw materials for weaving Phee and Phanek. Her weaving skills and the demand for these traditional attires turned this venture into a profitable business, providing a stable income for her family. Ranapati diversified further by engaging in vegetable farming, which provided additional income and enhanced her family’s financial stability.
With the profits from weaving and piggery farming, her husband joined her efforts. Together, they improved their family’s quality of life.
Ranapati also became a Bank Sakhi for Khekman Gram Panchayat, providing banking services to Self Help Group members and promoting financial literacy. This role boosted her knowledge, confidence, and communication skills.
Ranapati’s decision to join the Group transformed her life. Financial assistance and the skills she gained increased her confidence and communication abilities. Her diversified ventures now bring in a monthly income of approximately Rs. 30,000, significantly improving her family’s quality of life.
Her journey from financial hardship to entrepreneurial success shows how access to financial resources, combined with determination and hard work.
