Smt. Lavanya Didi’s journey from a determined young woman to a thriving entrepreneur is a testament to the power of self-help groups and government support. A graduate in commerce, Lavanya took her first step towards empowerment by joining the Sri Annapurneswari Self-Help Group. When her group became part of the Sri Sai Baba Sanjeevini GPLF, she found a stronger platform to grow and explore new opportunities. Eager to expand her skills, Lavanya pursued multiple training programs, mastering mushroom cultivation, artificial jewelry making, and tailoring. She trained as a Krishi Sakhi, completing both natural farming and Krishi Sakhi Module training. These experiences enabled her to build a diversified livelihood, which now includes a tailoring business, rose farming with advanced irrigation, high-yielding millet and bajra cultivation, a Xerox shop, a wheat flour outlet benefiting 53 women, and an Agri-Nutri Garden that serves as a community learning model. With an annual income exceeding Rs. 2 lakh, she has mentored nearly 250 women, inspiring them to achieve financial independence. Her story is one of perseverance, innovation, and community upliftment, proving that with the right support, women can transform their lives and lead their communities toward prosperity.
