Nasreen Bi belongs to the Ghanghora village of District Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. She was searching for avenues where she could seek financial support in order to meet the working capital requirement of her KGN Bakery to purchase small tools for food processing. Through the State Rural Livelihoods Mission, she came to know about the Seed Capital support being provided to Self Help Group members under the PM Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme for working capital and purchase of small tools. With the support of the facilitating organization, she received a Seed Capital amount of Rs. 40,000/- under the PMFME Scheme. Using this amount, she purchased a Cream Making Machine.
After the installation of the machinery, the per day production capacity of the enterprise has increased from 200 pieces to 300 pieces . The increase witnessed in the production capacity has also resulted in an increment in the daily profit of the enterprise from Rs. 400/- to Rs. 600/-. The Seed Capital amount is also being utilized to meet the working capital requirement of the KGN Bakery.
The products are being marketed via local stores, retail outlets, wholesale in Bareilly.
Her bakery not only sustains her family but also provides employment to other people also in the village, transforming her from an unemployed individual to an employer.
