Nateng Tabing’s remarkable journey began when she decided to join the Bomu Self-Help Group. She received financial assistance through this group and gained valuable technical knowledge in various livelihood activities. Her trajectory took a transformative turn with her association with National Rural Livelihood Mission, allowing her to secure a loan of Rs. 50,000 to establish a banana farm. Today, she earns ₹12000 per month from selling bananas. She is also recognized as the first and oldest livelihood cadre under the Pangin block.
Expanding her ventures, Nateng started pig rearing and extended her farming activities to include large cardamom, king chilli, and an orange nursery, all of which contribute to her monthly income. Nateng’s success story is a testament to the empowerment facilitated by Self Help Groups and National Rural Livelihood Mission, as she now enjoys a monthly income of Rs. 20,000, showcasing the tangible results of her determination and hard work.
