The story of Premlata Devi, who runs the “Prerna Agarbatti”, is quite touching. She has become a successful entrepreneur. Premlata Devi came from a wealthy family.

Premlata Devi shared that there was a time, when her husband was injured in a road accident, a few months later, her husband was seriously injured in another road accident and remained in a private hospital in a coma for a year. She had to sell their assets to cover daily hospital expenses. Sharing her struggle, she said after joining jeevika five years ago, she received 35 days of training in agarbatti (incense stick) making from Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (UCO RSETI) and then started Agarbatti production with a loan of Rs. 40,000 from Jeevika. From the beginning, sales were good. Gradually, the business grew and today, she employs five women, paying them Rs. 200 per day for making agarbatti. Through her hard work, Her business turned  Rs. 40,000 to 5,00,000 in five years and her earning is Rs. 10,000 to 15,000 per Month.
