Mrs. Rajakumari belongs to Manimegali Self Help Group. She was involved in her dairy business for the past 20 years, and revived her traditional occupation on a commercial basis with the latest technology. Despite handling all household chores, she worked hard with her husband in order to reach her family’s business to a new height. She is progressive by nature therefore, she got her training in Scientific Management of Dairy Cattle at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Puducherry, testing milk quality & Early Detection of mastitis in cattle at Veterinary College, Puducherry, and Milk Value Added products (ODOP) at Block Development office, Villiyanur by PIPDIC under NRLM. After the training, she decided to take a dairy loan of Rs 50,000 from Indian Bank Microstate Branch, bought an improved high-yielding milking cow, and constructed a pucca shed for the animal. She understood the increasing demand for hygienic milk production and adopted a hygienic method of the milk production system. Later she decided to expand her dairy and started cultivating green fodder in 0.05 acre of her land . She was highly impressed by the milk value-added product concept and started producing Curd in the Brand Name NEITHAL and ensured backward and forward linkage in and around her villages. At Present she is selling twenty two litres of milk per day and ten litres of Curd per week and she is earning more than Rs 2 lakh per year.
