Smt. Rajmita Rabha has embraced sustainable livelihood practices through her association with the Dipjoti Self-Help Group. Joining the group marked a turning point in her life, as it opened doors to various opportunities for her advancement. With the steadfast support of the Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS), Rajmita received invaluable skills development training, which equipped her with the necessary tools to thrive in her chosen craft. As a result, she honed her skills in handloom weaving, a traditional craft deeply rooted in her community’s heritage. In a commendable display of dedication and entrepreneurial spirit, Rajmita utilized the six handlooms provided by MSRLS, in convergence with the Community Service Centre for Crafts (CSCC), to produce a diverse range of clothing items. Through her diligent efforts and the quality of her craftsmanship, Rajmita has successfully established a thriving business. She sells her hand woven products in the local market. As a result, Rajmita’s monthly earnings range from approximately Rs. 18,000.
