Lakhpati Didi Journey
Rampari Devi, a resident of Pathrora village in the Rajgir block, has transformed her life through her association with Krishna Self-Help Group. Initially she has struggled with extreme financial hardship and the responsibility of supporting her seven children and ailing mother-in-law.
Her journey to financial independence began with a small loan amount of Rs. 5,000 from Jeevika. She invested in purchasing a sewing machine and started teaching sewing to the women in her community in the village and nearby villages, through which she started generating additional income. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to start a tent house business with a subsequent loan of Rs. 10,000 from Self Help group. With her growing business, she bought land and built her own house. She also bought a cow and started selling milk in her neighborhood as well.
Perseverance and diligent loan repayments have enabled her to expand her livelihood activities, including purchasing a goat and installing Ajola in her house. Today, she earns 2 to 3 lakh rupees annually, serving as an inspiration to many women who aspire to change their lives through hard work and entrepreneurship.
