Lakhpati Didi Journey
Ms. Rani Begum from Churaibari village in North Tripura, faced severe livelihood challenges during Covid pandemic. Rani’s husband, previously employed in a notebook-making company in Mumbai, returned home due to the crisis, leaving their family struggling financially. In response, Rani, encouraged by her husband, obtained a low-interest loan from her self-help group to purchase notebook-making machines. Utilising her husband’s expertise, they launched a business producing high-quality notebooks, now supplying several schools, libraries, and local markets. This venture significantly increased their monthly income by Rs. 10,000-15,000. Both Rani and her husband are committed to their children’s education and to building a happy, sustainable life, generating an annual family income of Rs. 3 lakh through their multiple livelihood activities.
