Mrs. Rhucheu Marhu, hailing from the Zuketsa main road-a vital link between Kohima and several other districts—has evolved her enterprise from a modest shop started with Rs. 70,000 borrowed from family into a thriving general store and juice-making business. Recognizing a gap in local access to basic goods, she expanded her offerings to include a diverse range of products, making her shop the largest and most frequented in the area, with an impressive annual turnover exceeding Rs. 5 Lakh. Her entrepreneurial spirit extended into producing local juices under her brand “Canaan,” which gained formal recognition with FSSAI registration and support from Nagaland SRLM. This ventures now bring in a monthly income of around INR 15 ,000, significantly improving her family’s life.
Despite personal challenges, including the loss of her father and early marriage, Rhucheu’s dedication to her family and business has not only provided vital community services but also established her as a strong, independent, and financially stable entrepreneur.
