There was a time when Roma Devi didn’t even know how to operate a computer properly, but today she is working as a Bank Sakhi, providing banking services to the villagers in remote areas with full confidence. Roma, a resident of Nawadih in Bokaro district, joined Sadhguru Aajeevika Sakhi Mandal. Her journey of becoming an empowered woman started when she worked as a bookkeeper in the group.
She learned to operate a computer during training and then came home and started practicing continuously with the help of her children. Today, with hard work and effort, Roma has not only become self-sufficient but also has eased the difficulties of the needy people in her village,
She also provides door-step service to people who are unable to reach here. With this work, Roma makes at least 20-25 transactions per day, due to which she earns around 15,000 Rs. every day. After starting the work of BC Sakhi, along with the people of the house, the villagers also give her a lot of respect.
