Sarita Damle, from a financially vulnerable background in Kasdakhurd village, struggled to sustain her family before joining the Jai Mata Di Aajeevika Self-Help Group. This Group empowered her with training in natural farming and vermi-composting, transforming her life. As a Krishi Sakhi, She encourages over 200 women farmers to adopt low-cost, organic farming practices.
Sarita promotes multi-layer farming, nutrition gardens, and horticulture through MNREGA, benefiting 21 women. She has also ventured into mushroom cultivation and poultry farming, diversifying her income sources.
Additionally, she revived millet farming and organized women into Producer Groups (PGs) for better market access. She earns ₹1.70-1.80 lakh annually from all sources, Sarita’s journey inspires many, proving that with determination and community support, even the most vulnerable can achieve success.
