Lakhpati Didi Journey :
Few years back, Seema’s situation was not the same. Her husband used to be a manager in Dehradun, but during Covid, he lost his job and had to return to the village. It was becoming difficult for her to look after her family.
Meanwhile, She joined Kali Mata Self Help Group and got the opportunity to learn about new livelihood activities and the Self Help Group Bank Linkage Program. She join a training on poultry farming that was being conducted in the village. Seema Devi used this opportunity and availed credit of Rs. 2 Lakh from her Group under the Bank Linkage Program to open a poultry farm. She and her husband own a poultry farm which now has a yearly turnover of Rs. 16 Lakh.
She says that she was in a big dilemma when her husband lost his job, but as she was a member of Group and was able to utilize the loan availed from the group by opening a poultry farm which is now her main source of earning. Her average monthly income is Rs. 1.25 lakh – Rs. 1.35 lakh. Her story is a magnificent example of how a woman can become Lakhpati Didi through self-determination.
