Mrs Shanthi through her strong vision and focus shifted from work seekers to job providers. She always wanted to find a better way to earn income to become self-dependent and her dreams came true with the establishment of the Neithal Oil Expeller Unit. After entering into the Self Help Group, She availed Community Investment fund (CIF) of Rs. 25,000 and bank linkage loan of Rs. 50,000 and also an internal loan of Rs. 50,000 and own investment of Rs. two Lakh. For strengthening her business. She participated in a training programme on food processing & value addition of regional crops. During training, she learned about processing techniques, value addition, packaging, marketing, labelling, cost calculation of products. After completion of training, she engaged herself in household level production, finally established her own Small Unit of oil expeller unit at Pillayarkuppam. She spent Rs 50,000 per month for Raw Materials for production of Groundnut oil 50 Litres per month Coconut oil 10 Litre per month, Sesame oil 50 Litres per month and Deepam oil 15 Litre per month. She earns net profit of Rs. 25,000 per month. She got a good response from the consumers. Her success story is a testament to the impact of the Self-Help Group movement in Villianur Block, Puducherry, which helped her realize her potential and provided necessary capacity-building and financial assistance. She expresses her gratitude to Puducherry State Rural Livelihoods Mission and all the people who guided her on this journey to a successful entrepreneur.
