Lakhpati Didi Journey
She is a member of Sari Dharam Mahila Dal in her village. After Joining the Group, She participated in training for improved farming of paddy and vegetables which increased her income and decreased her expenditure. She has taken a loan from Self Help Group whenever required to invest in livelihoods. She received special Training for practising organic agriculture, pisciculture and excavation with the help of block Staff. She became technically sound in regenerative farming-agriculture and pisciculture. Her currently average monthly Income is Rs. 12,000/-.
Sombari Baskey’s journey showcases the potential of rural women to rise above socio-economic challenges. Her dedication and hard work have not only enhanced her financial status but also inspired many women in the community to pursue similar paths of empowerment.
She expresses her gratitude to West Bengal State Rural Livelihoods Mission for providing a platform to her and other Self Help Group women to do something of her own.
