Lakhpati Didi Journey
Ms. Suklin Dohling was a small-scale farmer struggling to make ends meet. She grew millets, fruits, vegetables but wanted to diversify her income streams. She has encountered challenges, particularly with planting finger millet due to heavy rainfall and pests affecting her crops.
Her life took a significant turn when she became a founding member of the Tiewlyngksiar Self Help Group. Joining the Group opened doors to various interventions facilitated by NRLM. Training sessions on processing, packaging and labeling further enhanced her ability to showcase her products effectively in the market. With these newfound skills and resources, her annual income surged to Rs. 1.5 Lakh. Her success demonstrates the potential of women led to agriculture entrepreneurship in rural areas. Her processing unit created a sustainable income source, improved her livelihood and inspire other women also in her village.
