Mrs. Thirumathi, a hard working farmer able to grasp the technologies faster & adopt it who belongs to an agricultural family joined Roja Self Help Group which provided her with a platform where she could save money. She found friends in other members with whom she could share her sorrow and joy. Mrs.Thirumathi participated in many training programmes organized by KVK Kiurumbapet Pondicherry, on the Pandal System of Vegetable production technologies. She is the member of Agriculture Producer group under MKSP scheme, got JLG loan of Rs. 50,000 from Puduvai Bharathiar Gramiya Bank and also got credit linkage of Rs. 50,000/- through CIF under DAY-NRLM for her agricultural activities. She feels working jointly, judicious use of water, studying the market and planning accordingly and direct marketing are the secrets of success in agriculture. Through her hard work and application of the learned techniques at right time such as utilisation of improved tools and equipment, quality seeds with improved package of practices and advanced technologies efficiently resulting in her higher yield and production at farm where she earns Rs. 20,000 per month in flowers and Rs. 25,000 per month in vegetables.
