After joining the Group, Smt. Urmila Devi took a loan of Rs. 10,000 to build a greenhouse and buy seeds for tomatoes, eggplants and cauliflower.
As an agricultural guide (Krishi Sakhi), she has received district-level training in Different activities such as making NADEP compost, setting up inspiration nutrition gardens, using organic pesticides, making vermin-compost, vegetable farming (kitchen gardens).
Mrs. Urmila Devi works with 60 farmers as an agricultural guide, providing training on rice and wheat cultivation using SRI methods, organic vegetable farming, and making organic pesticides and fertilizers. By practising organic vegetable farming and selling vermin-compost, she earns an average of Rs. 10,000 per month. Previously, Mrs. Urmila Devi struggled with unemployment, poverty, and financial difficulties. Since joining the group, her economic and social situation has significantly improved.
Urmila Devi plays a key role in training other women farmers in the village, teaching them about rice and wheat cultivation using SRI methods, organic vegetable farming, making organic fertilizers and creating organic pesticides.
