Lakhpati Didi Journey
Kavita Jatav is a member of Guru Narayan Self Help Group in Madho ka Dera village in Madhya Pradesh. After joining Self Help Group, she received funds under the Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihoods Mission. This loan helped her to meet her needs and she became more confident about availing loans at low interest rates.
She received a Rs. 60,000 loan from Self Help Group to start vegetable production.
She made a bold move to switch to organic methods of indigenous paddy and chilli cultivation. She started as a solo endeavor and grew into a collective effort as she mobilized eight fellow farmers into a producer group in the initial year. Her Current monthly income Rs. 11,000/- with her dedication and hard work she has set an example for the entire village.
She expresses her gratitude to Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihoods Mission for providing a platform to her and other Self Help Group women to do something of her own.
Her journey showcases the potential of rural women to rise above socio-economic challenges. Her dedication and hard work have not only enhanced her financial status but also inspired many women in the community to pursue similar paths of empowerment.
