Raj kumari Nagar, a resident of Ghatiyabhana village in Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh, leads the Jai Ambe Aajeevika Self Help Group as its President. Before joining the group, despite being a graduate, Rajkumari’s life was limited to household work, with no extra income to support her family.
She received a Community Investment fund from the Aajeevika Mission. She utilised a Rs. 10,000 loan for household needs and later took a Rs. 50,000 loan to purchase a reaper machine for wheat harvesting. This investment allowed her to harvest around 200 bighas of wheat, resulting in a profit of Rs. 2 lakhs.
In addition to her agricultural activities, she applied to run a ration shop in her village after learning that Self Help Group members were prioritised for such opportunities. With the support of the Aajeevika Mission team, her application was successfully processed and now she earns Rs. 9,000 per month as a salesperson at the shop. She also received training as an “Udyam Sakhi” under the Mission.
Her family’s income has now grown to approximately Rs. 25,000 per month, thanks to her multiple livelihood activities.
With dreams of expanding her shop and business, She is determined to continue growing with the support of the Aajeevika Mission, making a better life for her family and inspiring others in her community.
