Lakhpati Didi Journey

Gogon Dai started making organic soaps and candles at her kitchen table, initially selling her products at local village markets. Her venture began through her involvement with Bomi Ane Self Help Group, which quickly evolved into a significant group enterprise.

Supported by training from AMYA NGO in collaboration with Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission, Gogon managed to balance remote learning for her children with running a business from her basement. Despite the challenges of managing household duties and business activities, she persevered. Gogon expressed her vision, saying, “I want to create a community for working parents who need a flexible schedule.” Her dedication paid off as her soap and candle business flourished, countering the typical struggles faced by many small enterprises.

On the 75th Republic Day, January 26, 2024, Gogon led her group in setting up a stall at Roing, showcasing their soaps and candles. They also participated in Arunachal Yuva Samanvay 2024 at Dambuk, setting up another successful stall. Her monthly income is around Rs. 15,000 per month.

Gogon is grateful for her successful home-based business, which allows her to blend personal passion with professional endeavours. She is keen on continuing to provide for her family while contributing positively to her community.
