Kalpana Barman’s entrepreneurial spirit was ignited by her training at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, where she began her journey into professional vermi-compost production. With strategic investments from Revolving Fund, Community Investment Fund, and PMFME seed capital. She expanded her ventures across vermicompost production, handloom, and farming.
Her business thrived with each financial boost, including securing necessary bank loans, which allowed her to significantly scale up her operations. Today, Kalpana earns a substantial income, ranging between Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 20,000 per month, from marketing her diverse range of products across various markets. Her commitment to quality has attracted orders from significant state and national-level organizations. She has been honored with numerous awards, including the “Udyami Mahila Award” from Krishi Vigyan Kendra in 2016, the “Empowered Woman Award” on Women’s Day 2018, and the “Successful Woman Award” from Krishi Vigyan Kendra again in 2018.
