Okoli Tayeng, a progressive farmer from Jia village, has been a member of Ruth Self Help Group. After joining the Self Help Group, she received both financial assistance and training, which helped her embark on her entrepreneurial journey. With a loan of Rs. 60,000 from her Self Help Group, she began raising chickens. This venture boosted her confidence, leading her to expand her business to include cattle and pig farming and vermicompost production.
In addition to her farming operations, Okoli also ventured into non-farm activities such as making fruit juice, ginger candy, and banana chips to supplement her monthly income. She now earns roughly Rs. 30,000 a month and is happy and content with her achievements. Okoli plans to continue working hard to grow her business further.
