Lakhpati Didi Journey
The BBS Chips unit is an initiative started by three Self Help Group members of Chundakoli Ward in Poothadi Panchayat in Panamaram Block of Wayanad district. With the help of Kudumbashree, they took a loan of Rs. 5 lakhs and took Rs. 3 lakhs as its own share. After that they decided to expand the initiative with the support of MECs. Now the venture is doing well with all kinds of systems. They spend 4 days a week for manufacturing and two days for marketing. The workers they need are the local residents. Raw Materials are sourced from the local market. They are marketing in every panchayat of Wayanad district. They do wholesale and retail trade as well. Due to the good quality of the products, the demand for their products is high. Their chips and sarkaravaratti were included in the kit distribution during Onam. Also, their products are exhibited and marketed in international fairs and local fairs. They are earning Rs. 30,000 profit from each month.
