Mahalakshmi, a traditional farmer from a humble economic background, always harbored a dream and deep passion for goat rearing.
The real turning point came during a Self Help Group meeting when it was announced that Mission was actively identifying women farmers interested in goat rearing to provide them with targeted training and financial assistance. Eager to fulfill her long-standing dream, Mahalakshmi immediately registered her name on the beneficiary selection list.
She was sanctioned a loan of Rs. 1 Lakh, using these funds, She purchased 10 goats. Under her careful rearing, the goats gave birth to 16 kids. After raising them for three months, she sold 10 of the kids at a rate of Rs. 6,500 each, generating a strong revenue of Rs. 65,000.
Mahalakshmi is incredibly happy with her success, having achieved a profit of Rs. 57,500 along with the physical expansion of her livestock. Through this initiative, her dream of becoming a successful livestock rearer has been fulfilled, and her family’s livelihood continues to steadily and proudly improve.
