After joining the Self Help group, she came in contact with representatives from Development Alternatives, who offered their support in building their own enterprises. This initiative, centered around the concept of “Atma Nirbhar Mahila” (self-reliant women), ignited a sense of enthusiasm and empowerment among the women of their group. Following several sessions with the Development Alternatives field team, she has gone through the training on “Start and Improve your Business,” equipping them with essential skills and knowledge required to establish and manage successful ventures in rural areas.
Rachna’s journey took an exciting turn when she decided to participate in the “Kaun Banegi Business Leader” competition organized by the Development Alternatives. Among the shortlisted candidates, she secured the second position, a testament of her entrepreneurial spirit. She was provided with Enterprise Support Services (ESS), which included assistance in managing a successful business and meeting the logistical requirements of opening a momo business stall.
She boldly decided to open a momo stall run by women. This decision not only challenged societal norms but also symbolized their collective determination to break barriers and carve out a space for women in entrepreneurship. She now runs a successful momo food stall in her village and earning a income of Rs. 20,000 per month.
