Since childhood Rathnavalli has always been involved in making art and craft items.She also studied tailoring in the nearby area and decided to earn income. The clients who visited her house for tailoring works happened to see the craft she made and slowly people started buying them. From that moment, she realized that her skills had the potential to earn money and make her life better. After her marriage, the conditions were not favourable to go for a job. But her mind always wished to earn an income on her own. She joined a Self Help Group named ‘Nirmalyam’. Through Self Help Groups, she realised various marketing options were there to sell her goods. She started and registered an enterprise and inaugurated her enterprise. She participated in every training programme that came her way. She participated in soft toy making, flower making. Later on, she got more publicity for her products. Now she is earning Rs. 25000 per month as an average income from her skills. ‘Nettipattam’ is one of the major attractions of Kerala art work which is made with more accuracy and is the most selling item. Soft toys, flower vases, dolls, etc. were the other items. Her dream is to continue her passion till her last breath which makes her mind happy and thereby increases her living standards.
