Haseena Bi, a resident of Umariya village in Khategaon block, struggled with her family’s financial challenges. As a member of a low-income family with a small grocery shop, she could not provide enough for her three children’s education or other household needs. After joining the Ekta Aajeevika Self-Help Group, she took out an initial loan of Rs. 40,000 to expand her business by adding cutlery items. Later, she obtained an additional Rs. 60,000 to open a clothing shop and set up a photocopying service. Through the Aajeevika Mission and bank linkages, she received a total of Rs. 1,35,000. With the help of a Mudra loan, she even purchased a Tavera vehicle, which she rents out for further boosting her income. Currently, she earns around Rs. 36,000 per month from her various activities, which include the grocery and cutlery shops, vehicle rental, flour mill improving her family’s financial stability and quality of life.
