Lakhpati Didi Journey
Kalpana Ghosh, residing in Chathirma Block Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, transformed her life through dairy entrepreneurship supported by CGSRLM. Her journey is inspiring from being a homemaker to a successful entrepreneur. Kalpana’s confidence in her homemaking skills led her to explore entrepreneurship within her household. She choose animal husbandry, believing it could sustain her and provide profitability.
With a loan from her Self Help Group (SHG), she purchased her first cattle. Encouraged by early success, she expressed her ambition to expand her business to Bihan officials. With unwavering support of SRLM, she secured some loans from the Self Help group and was able to acquire 15 Jersey cattle.
This loan marked her path to economic independence. Selling 75 liters of milk daily, she repaid her loan in a short span of time. Now she is owning 30 Jersey dairy cattle and produces 225 liters of milk daily. She is supplying milk not only to her village but also hotels in Ambikapur.
After expenses, Kalpana earns Rs. 40,000/- to Rs. 50,000/- monthly. She aspires to increase production and inspire others also in her village. Her journey symbolizes determination and agri entrepreneurship’s power to empower individuals and drive rural economic growth.
