Meenu Devi from a small village dreamed of opening a BC Sakhi center to provide banking services to her community. She faced numerous challenges, including social resistance and a lack of financial resources.
She enrolled in training programs offered by Haryana State Rural Livelihoods Mission, where she learned about banking operations and digital transactions. Despite the initial hurdles, she managed to secure a small loan Rs. 50,000 to start her center. Today, her BC Sakhi center serves hundreds of villagers, offering services such as account opening, money transfers, and government schemes enrollment. The training proved to be beneficial to her and her business generates an income of approximately Rs.15,000/- per month. Her success has encouraged many other women in her village to pursue similar ventures.
